Jamaicans identify with biritish culture

@DaBigSun As a Jamaican, I can say that I do identify with British culture a lot & my grandmother had the chance to make my mother British, because she was born in 1961. It wouldn't be that crazy to say we're English, we were before we became independent. Spain does allow people from Latin America (idk about the Spanish Caribbean) to get Spanish citizenship because most of the time a person born in those countries has relatives within the last 2-3 generations that would be considered Spanish.

@DaBigSun My grandmother considers herself English. My mother considers herself Jamaican. Jamaica & England didn't have a big war of independence. I know a lot of English-born people who consider themselves Jamaican regardless of their skin colour. We're still close with England, and as far as I can tell, leaving the commonwealth is not a top priority. Americans stopped being British 200 years ago, we stopped being British in the 1960s. England doesn't allow former colonies citizenship though.
