Mosquitoes are the deadliest creature on Earth

Regardless of its length of 16 millimeters, mosquitoes have taken most number of human lives on Earth, according to a website.

Scienceray, a website dedicated to a variety of science topics, put mosquitoes on the top of the list of “10 most dangerous creatures in the world.”

“Mosquitoes are known for spreading malaria, elephantiasis, yellow fever and West Nile virus,” the website said, adding that mosquitoes indirectly kill about three million people per year by transmitting deadly diseases.

Both male and female mosquitoes live on nutrients in plants. However, female mosquitoes suck blood from mammals needing proteins and iron to develop eggs. After they suck blood from an infected host, they can go and transmit diseases to other people.

Humans actually have caused more deaths, but the list does not include them.
