Brita takes out the chlorine too, which is there to get rid of the microbes but isn't necessary once it's in your tap. Brita improves the taste too, which will get you drinking more water. Problem is that almost all tap water and a lot of bottled water contains fluoride. I own a reverse osmosis filter to remove it, and my teeth are fine. I don't use fluoride toothpaste because fluoride has been proven to greatly increase the risk of bone cancer. Fluoride is the main ingredient in rat poisons.
