The Khmer are the indigenous and original inhabitants of Indochina, heavily influenced by Indian trade partners. The Tai (Thai and Lao) people were heavily influenced by the Khmer, including their writing, dance, music, costume and architecture when they arrived later. Angkor Wat dates back to the 12th century. Chaiwatthanaram dates back to the 17th. Please, no more ignorant comments from Thais claiming everything belongs to them when it doesnt.
