green eyes, the myth of a Greek blond nation being a fiction created by the German Romanticism

Romans and Greeks looked alike, as they both derive from the same Indoeuropean branch.
The skeletons and the armours found prove that they were shorter than we are.
Both Romans and Greeks had either dark or blue - green eyes, the myth of a Greek blond nation being a fiction created by the German Romanticism. Both nations absorbed other populations living already in the peninsulas where they settled down, and this fact enforced their physical similarity, as even the former populations (Etrurians, Kares, Leleges etc) had common Mediterranean origin.
We can have an image of the features of Greeks as from the Hellenistic times, when first statues and frescoes come to depict real persons, as before statues depicted the ideal beauty.
Of course, the painted statues of the Archaic "kores" (Akropolis museum) indicate that Greeks were mostly dark haired.
From these Hellenistic busts, frescoes and even the Fayoum portraits, many of which depict Greeks of the diaspora, as well as from the Roman statues and busts, as well as the frescoes, we cannot observe any difference on the features of the two nations.
The myth of the blond nation or nations, as aready mentioned, serves only some propagandas and not the plain historical truth.
