The current italian blood is 70% the same as it was 2000 years ago. You know why ?
The austrian, french, arab occupation was just military and administrative. That means no immigration and no mixing with the italic blood (etrusco-greco-roman). One exception, the 4 centuries of norman(scandinavian origin) occupation in South Italy, with an important immigration. Look at the frescoes of Rome, Pompei, Herculanum, still the same physical characteristics italians have today.
